A Sneak Peak Into A "Different Light"

As I have grown older and a bit wiser, I have found that a rush job on something you find valuable is never fulfilling or even worth doing.  I have resolved to live my life in alignment with this sentiment as much as possible, including with the release of this project.  My team and I have made the hard decision not to rush this album.  It is the best of two years of songwriting and we would like to give the engineers more time to add their specialized personal touches to the project, while we take more time for its pre-release promotion.

I do have good news for all who are planning on sharing an evening of music with us on September 7th; we are not cancelling the party!  We are excited to announce our preview party for a Different Light on September 7 at the 5030 Local in Loveland from 7-9 PM.  This show is free and open to the public with no official door time.  We are inviting fans, friends, and followers to this listening party where the album will be performed live in its entirety.  Different Light CDs will be available for pre-order at a discounted price that evening and we will also be offering merch packs with various BDC items included.

If you have never been to the 5030 Local, let me tell you about it.  It is Berthoud Brewing’s second location - a taproom with a full kitchen, located in Loveland on Hwy 34.  From my non-visual perspective, I find it to have a very enchanting atmosphere.  The live acoustics in the room bring resonance and life to the music.  I can’t steer you too much when it comes to their selection of home-crafted beers, but I can recommend the bacon blue cheese pizza, or any pizza they make in house.  I guarantee it will be an eating experience you won’t soon forget, it is phenomenal!

Different Light is an album about love, perseverance, hope, and prayer.  It is my first full-length solo release and in many ways, my musical mark of independence as an artist.  This work ranges through many moods and has helped us through many changes.  We hope it can do the same for you.  Please come out and enjoy an evening of music with Brian David Collins this coming Saturday!
