Crash

Since 1994 I have recorded original music. At that time I was a self-produced teen singer/song writer, using a multi track cassette recorder called a Tascam. Up until last year it was much as Merle Haggard put it, “I haven’t got a thing to show for anything I’ve done.”

Now, at age 43, in the year 2023, I had my first taste of success in my career as a song writer and recording artist. Assemble Sound, a sync licensing company out of Detroit Michigan, landed me a deal using my song in a commercial for Ford. So there you have it, success isn’t always in the form that you think it is, and for me, this was certainly the case. It seems that the monetary future for song writers is largely through sync licensing deals, selling songs and performing live. I tell you, I’m not the kind who wants to be on the road, and most of my songs are too valuable to me to ever sell them,. So, I’ve made the basic conclusion that when it comes to making money with my original music, I will pursue sync licensing deals, and will remain cautiously optimistic when it comes to anything else. This being said, I will always write songs I never intend to use for sync, I love to write, I love to record, period….!
